The captain of this oil tanker is Heinrich Dau who was assigned to support the Admiral Garf of south Atlantic between September and December 1939. When seamen was rescued from the ship which was sunk in December 1939 Altmark starts to proceed to south and it discovered three British people and pursues by several British destroyers. After that the German tanker received a boarding message that an escape of seven crew members were shot dead. It was mainly the trick of the British soldiers to tow the ship back to Scottish port but the damage of the tank destroys the idea.
